30 day shred day one

I took this picture the day of the Bees baptism. It was a beautiful day just like this one...

So it begins.....again

I completed the 30 day shred in 2010 before I fell pregnant and I really enjoyed it. It was exhausting and challenging but it gave me a brilliant sense of achievement and I lost almost a stone and 7 inches from my waist and hips combined! Fantastic results I'm sure you'll agree.

Now my post baby body isn't fantastic at all, my c section and muscle seperation prevented me from any "hardcore" exercise until I had completed my physiotherapy course. I still do the prescribed exercises at home after the Bee has gone to sleep and during the day when I remember.

So-diddly-o I'm making some summer resolutions in the hope that they will turn out to be life long habits. 30 days to make or break a habit so here goes......

Exercise
- hold in my stomach muscles (particularly the lower ones) when I pass through a doorway.
- complete the 30 day shred every day it's only 20 minutes so it's totally achievable
- walk for an hour a day with the Bee I do this two or three times a week but need to make it an every day thing. The Bee enjoys being outdoors more than toddler groups and soft play
- take my iron tablets and vitamins every day and stop forgetting them!

Beauty
- exfoliate three times a week
-moisturise every day
-use up my bio oil to banish those pesky stretchmarks still lingering!

I think these are all pretty achievable goals for the month :) this week will be fun because it's the Bees first birthday and were going to be very busy with various groups and activities we've got planned.

Anyhoozle I'm off to frolic in the sunshine with the Bee and some family and friends. I think weather like this calls for a picnic :D

Thanks for reading and let me know your fitness and beauty goals for the month. Xx

Ideas, ramblings and general mooching

This is what happens when I get bored, I hijack a five year olds colouring book and go loopy!

To be honest I quite like the rainbow hair if I wasn't such an oap I might just slap some bleach on and go to town with the rainbow effect. Alas I am old and slightly cynical as to whether I could pull off multi-coloured hair.

I want these. Badly. (image mooched off google because I'm a fool who forgot where they can be bought wah!) They're brilliant the right balance of witty and practical. I hearts them I do.

How sweet is this bad boy?! Please please tell me someone knows where the page with the tutorial is? I have a bad habit of c&p pictures for reference then forgetting the origins of them bah! How adorable is this diy kitchen though made from such an ugly unit into something so delicious as this! I want one! Sod my childs needs I didn't have a play kitchen as a child and have deep rooted issues that have made me a terrible cook so I need a practice kitchen :) Real grown up kitchens are boring and require too much cleaning :(

It's a sunflower, I like them, nobody ever buys me them. People are crap.

All pictures skanked from google apart from my epic work of art. Disney please don't sue me. Ha!

Revlon Lipstick Swatches

Whilst the baby sleeps I have time to play with make up which of course makes me happy. Below are some swatches of my Revlon lipsticks for your mooching pleasure.

Ok so my camera has turned the picture and it won't turn back.....awesome. From top to bottom we have......

- Revlon Matte Lipstick in Really Red 006
- Revlon Matte Lipstick in Wine Not 010
- Revlon Matte Lipstick in Stormy Pink 011
- Revlon Matte Lipstick in Pink About It 004
- Revlon Matte Lipstick in Pink Pout 002
The one at the side is a Revlon Colourburst in Peach 075

Ok so some swatches

The lipsticks are in the same order as above except for the one on the far left which is the Peach one.

Sorry they're so paled out the lighting in my living room was really bright, it's a strangely sunny day today and I'm stuck inside bah! As you would expect from the name the matte lipsticks are completely matte. My personal favourite is really red it reminds me of Mac viva glam l they're both vintage looking reds and really red is a warm almost browned red. It makes me glide around thinking I'm a Hollywood star oh I can dream! Wine not is a very high coverage dark berry colour one swipe and you get the colour you see above. It's a very intense colour that I like to wear with a simple flicked liner to keep the focus on my lips.

Next up is stormy pink a lilac toned bright pink this is one of the sheerest lipsticks out of the ones I own in the matte range. From the colour in the tube I expected a pink that is like a fish slap to the face - shocking. It's a more muted version once on the lips but I suppose depending on your skin tone it could be amazing. My lips are quite pigmented so it does change the end result somewhat into a mauve pink.

Pink about it is beautiful there's no two ways about I simply love this colour for summer it's a pinked coral and is perfect for my pasty skin tone. I find corals hard to wear but this is definately one for pale to medium skin tones it's a keeper!

Pink pout is a pale lilac-pink that turns a deeper mauve ish colour on my skin and lips. I've seen some reviews that liken it to some Barry M lipsticks the names of which escape me how crap am I?!

Last but not least is peach which is too warm for my current skin tone but is amazing when I'm all fake baked up. This would be gorgeous on medium or tanned skin it has a lovely sheen to it and it took two swipes to get the coverage shown above.

In terms of wear the matte lipsticks last between 4 and 6 hours dependant on how much I eat and drink. I drink around 4 litres of water on average so I definately put them to the test. The peach colourburst lipstick lasts around 3 hours on average which isn't bad for a lipstick on me.

Ok I think I've waffled on enough now I'm off to eat a hot meal whilst the small person is still sleeping! Exciting :)

Four holes in my abdominal region

I like cheese. Alot. Nothing makes me happier than two massive slices of bread, some full fat heart attack inducing cheese and branston pickle. Mega yum.

Alas no more. I am recovering from having my gallbladder wrenched from my body and I'm feeling typically sorry for myself. I usually would fill a feed bag with cheese, dm whole nut and litres of coke and chow down but no I can't be arsed. It will make me ill, my backside will shake more causing my local area to suffer aftershocks dislodging the plates from their new "antique" sideboards. Most of all it will depress me.

She makes me jealous.

These make me nostalgic.

This really makes me want bunk beds and preferably friends/siblings to occupy them.

This makes me say hooray for breast feeding supermodels.

This is a dog in a taco outfit.

Ch-ch-ch-changes!!

For as long as I could remember I've wanted blonde hair, that gorgeous milky blonde of my dreams was a million miles away from my miserable mousey brown. Blonde hair makes me happier, bouncier and an all round shinier person such is the power of hair!

So in June 2011 my hair was chopped from long one length blandness to just below the shoulder with a blunt fringe. The colour was warmed up and the ends were squared off.

Excuse the moody expression I was trying to check my make up with no mirror and my phone refused to work! So I kept this style and colour throughtout my pregnancy but at my appointment in january this year I decided to be really rash and chop it off! Wild eh? Here are the results forgive my eyebrows I had just tinted them and left it on too long :( I blame baby brain.....9 months later ahem.

It was supposed to be a dramatically graduated bob but my hairdresser kind of lost her way :l the colour has been "cleaned up" with some lighter blondes throughout the whole head. FYI I have a full head of highlights in three shades of blonde, my fringe is blunt but slightly snipped into to break it up.

I've had some people say I suit shorter hair and some people say they liked it longer. I'm not 100% sure either way really, I think short hair is higher maintainence contrary to popular belief! I'm still getting used to it so who knows how I might feel in the near future?

Pointless post really just wanted a bit of a hair ramble! I do miss my longer hair but it's a change and change is always good right?

Greetings!

My name is NatNat and this is my blog. I blogged a long time ago before my daughter entered the world but just wasn't inspired through the morning sickness and then the lack of sleep following her entrance into the world.

Now my daughter is eight months old I find I have more time to relax, more time for me, so I have jumped back on the band wagon.

This blog will record my life my personal thoughts, superficial things such as make up, hair, my daughters development, my hobbies and new discoveries.

I'm not one to pad out the truth or fabricate details in any way so you can be sure that what you read comes straight from my noggin no filter here!

I'll be back on Monday with some random ponderings. Until then have a great weekend. If any readers ever have any questions just post a comment or drop me an email at natterwithnatnat@live.co.uk
